The Oak Ridge Boys Announce the Christmas Celebration Tour 2016

Oak Ridge Boys: Christmas Celebration Tour 2016
Every year, a man with a white beard goes city to city giving the gift of Christmas joy, and his name is… William Lee Golden (were you expecting someone else?). For 27 years now, Country Music Hall of Fame members The Oak Ridge Boys have been a part of their fans' holiday seasons with their annual Christmas tour. This year, the award-winning group will play to packed houses across America during the 2016 Christmas Celebration tour, which will take the group to two-dozen cities in 16 states, from the East to West Coast, November 1 through December 22 (see schedule below).

A mixture of traditional and contemporary songs—including religious, romantic and fun holiday tunes—makes up the set list, which includes songs from the Oaks’ six bestselling Christmas CDs. A highlight of the evening is the much-loved ‘rocking chair’ segment where each BOY rocks by the fireplace and shares personal thoughts about Christmas.

Oaks’ lead singer, Duane Allen, says, “Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love the positive things about the season.... the joy, happiness, giving, sharing, time with family, and gifts. The beautiful lights and decorations. Christmas music. Special food. And most of all the true meaning, which, of course, is celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

“Every year I look forward to taking our Christmas tour all over the USA. I hope everyone will come out this year and celebrate Christmas with The Oak Ridge Boys.”

Known for their iconic and multi-platinum selling hit “Elvira,” along with other chart-toppers like “Bobbie Sue,” “Thank God For Kids,” and “Leaving Louisiana In The Broad Daylight,” The Oak Ridge Boys have achieved a decorated career, winning five GRAMMY® Awards, and multiple CMA, ACM and Dove Awards for their cross-over brand of pop, country and gospel music that spans multiple generations. Made up of members Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden and Richard Sterban, whose unmistakable bass on the lyric “oom poppa, mow mow,” has become one of music’s most recognized sing-alongs on an international scale, The Oak Ridge Boys are members of the Grand Ole Opry and achieved arguably country music’s highest honor in October 2015 when they were inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame.

Kiefer Sutherland: Down In A Hole
Kiefer Sutherland’s soulful baritone vocals and guitar licks continue to captivate audiences with his second music video, “Can’t Stay Away,” premiering exclusively this weekend during CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown. The track is the latest release from Sutherland’s debut album Down In A Hole, which will be released August 19 by Warner Music Nashville/Ironworks Music. Down In A Hole will be available for pre-order August 5.

Sutherland, who co-wrote every song on the upcoming 11-track album with producer Jude Cole, including “Can’t Stay Away,” just wrapped up a North American tour that included sold-out dates across the U.S. and Canada.

“We wanted the biggest look for the premiere of Kiefer Sutherland’s new song and video!” said Leslie Fram, CMT Senior VP of Music Strategy.

CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown has a weekly large, loyal base of country music fans who want to see what’s hot and new. “Can’t Stay Away” captures the live, intimate, real and raw essence of what Kiefer has been doing on the road, playing small towns and small clubs. Undeniable!’ Fram added.

Earlier this year Sutherland gave fans a taste of his songwriting notebook when he released the pedal-steeled “Not Enough Whiskey.”
“This record is the closest thing I’ve ever had to a journal or diary. All of these songs are pulled from my own personal experiences. There is something very satisfying about being able to look back on my own life, good times and bad, and express those sentiments in music. As much as I have enjoyed the writing and recording process, I am experiencing great joy now being able to play these songs to a live audience, which was something I hadn’t counted on,” Sutherland said of Down In A Hole.

Sutherland, an Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor, is known for his starring role on the Fox series "24," starring roles in movies like ‘Stand By Me,’ ‘The Lost Boys,’ ‘Young Guns,’ Flatliners,’ and many more. Sutherland’s upcoming ABC series “Designated Survivor” premieres this fall on ABC.

"This is going to be one of them magic evenings," says Charlie Daniels. "I'm really looking forward to jamming with Chris Stapleton. I'm looking forward to just getting on stage with him and some other pickers and just let the music take us wherever it wants to go."

After a star-studded 40th Anniversary Volunteer Jam last year, this year’s celebration event will feature The Charlie Daniels Band and a select bunch of their favorite musicians and entertainers on stage for an exhilarating event for the ages. Since 1974, Daniels has commissioned his musical friends and peers to come together on a “volunteer” basis to hang out, “jam” together, and entertain crowds in an unconventional, laid-back fashion unknown to any other concert event -- all while dedicating concert proceeds to worthy causes. This year’s event will feature extra special “jam” sessions with some of Charlie’s most prolific friends who want to celebrate the soon-to-be Country Music Hall of Famer, his birthday, and his many accomplishments.

A portion of the proceeds from the night will go to the The Journey Home Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit co-founded by Daniels and manager, David Corlew, to help Veterans of the United States Armed Forces. For more info on The Journey Home Project, please visit: thejourneyhomeproject.org.

Charlie Daniels’ 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam is produced by Mike Smardak of Outback Concerts in association with David Corlew & Associates and Webster & Associates.

Last year, Charlie Daniels’ 40th Anniversary Volunteer Jam brought the historic event to its largest stage yet, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. A sold out crowd raised over $300,000 for Charlie’s 501(c)(3) non-profit The Journey Home Project benefitting American Veterans, military members, and their families. The memorable anniversary event featured The Charlie Daniels Band, Ted Nugent, Trace Adkins, Alabama, Blackberry, Bonnie Bramlett, Eric Church, Terri Clark, Billy Crain, Billy Ray Cyrus, Billy Dean, Colt Ford, The Grascals, Lee Greenwood, Jimmy Hall, The Kentucky Headhunters, Jamey Johnson, Tracy Lawrence, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Montgomery Gentry, , Craig Morgan, The Oak Ridge Boys, Lee Roy Parnell, Jeannie Seely, Michael W. Smith, Natalie Stovall, Travis Tritt, Phil Vassar, Ryan Weaver, Wynonna, and Tucker Yochim among others.

Kenny Rogers Announces His 35th Annual And Final Christmas & Hits Tour

Since the release of Kenny Rogers’ first-ever Christmas album back in 1981 titled Christmas, Rogers has embarked on an annual Christmas & Hits Tour where he performs holiday favorites and a large selection of hits at concerts across North America.

Rogers announced late last year on NBC’s Today show that the world tour he is currently on would be his final time performing around the globe. So this year’s 35th edition of his annual Christmas & Hits tour, with special guest Linda Davis, will indeed be his last. After more than five decades of touring and entertaining the world, Rogers’ farewell tour, “The Gambler’s Last Deal,” is underway and expected to run into 2017 due to popular demand.

“Christmas has always been a special time of year to me,” Rogers said. “The feeling I get performing on the Christmas tour is one of the things I’ll really miss about not being on the road. We will be sure to take extra time to cherish some moments on this last go around, and I hope as many people as possible will be able to join us in creating a new set of holiday memories.”

For his upcoming Christmas & Hits tour dates, Rogers will perform holiday favorites, selections from his 2015 Christmas album Once Again It’s Christmas and of course his well-known hits at concerts across the U.S. The tour currently includes 16 dates. Making this final Christmas tour experience even more special, a very limited number of VIP ticket packages will be offered, allowing fans the opportunity to meet Rogers and receive one-of-a-kind memorabilia. Two types of VIP packages will be available for each show of the tour. For more information, visit: www.kennyrogers.com.

“The Gambler’s Last Deal” concerts feature an all-new show, including a reflective look back through Rogers’ storied 50-plus-year career. Enhanced with personal stories, vintage photos and video clips—including never-before-seen footage—the music-filled retrospective will touch on every part of Rogers’ career. Along with his long list of hits, Rogers is singing songs in concert that he hasn’t performed in years. The show is produced by veteran producer Kelly Junkermann.

Seven-time GRAMMY® Award winner Carrie Underwood scores her 24th #1 single of her career with “Church Bells,” the third consecutive chart-topping single from her current album, Storyteller.  Landing the #1 slot on both the Billboard and Mediabase country airplay charts, the song also spent two weeks at #1 on Canada’s Mediabase country airplay chart and three weeks at #1 on Australia’s country airplay chart.

Produced by Mark Bright and written by Zach Crowell, Brett James, and Hillary Lindsey, “Church Bells” was singled out by Entertainment Weekly as a “twangy roof-raiser.” In fact, Underwood virtually brought the house down when she performed the prime-time television debut of “Church Bells” at the 51st Annual ACM Awards on CBS in April which drew a standing ovation from the audience at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. “Nothing short of spectacular” is how Rolling Stone Country recapped the ACM Awards moment.

The music video for “Church Bells,” directed by Wayne Isham and filmed during a live concert at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, is currently #1 on GAC’s fan-voted Top 20 Country Countdown. The goal of director Isham, whose director credits include Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Metallica and Britney Spears, was to capture the country star’s energetic live performance and fans’ reactions and edit it into a 3:40 snapshot of a Carrie Underwood The Storyteller Tour – Stories In The Round experience. Watch the video here: http://smarturl.it/cuchurchbellsvevo

Underwood begins the second leg of The Storyteller Tour on August 31st in Anchorage, Alaska.

Look for Carrie Underwood to kick off the 2016 season of football and a brand new theme song for “Sunday Night Football” on September 11th on NBC prior to the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals game. Titled “Oh, Sunday Night,” the new song is based on Underwood’s 2014 hit collaboration with Miranda Lambert, “Somethin’ Bad.”

And, later this fall, the country star joins Brad Paisley as co-hosts of the 50th Annual CMA Awards on November 2nd broadcasting live from Bridgestone Arena on ABC 8-11 pm Eastern/7-10 pm Central.

Hot off the heels of his #1 single, Huntin', Fishin', Lovin' Everyday, Luke Bryan has released "Move" as the followup single off of his latest album, Kill the Lights.

Move has always been one of our faves off of Luke's latest album and we're psyched he's released it as a single!

REVIEW: CMT Music Festival 2016!!!

She's Gone Country was thrilled to attend the inaugural CMT Music Fest at Bingeman's in Kitchener over the weekend of July 8-9th! The lineup was stellar with likes of the Brothers Osborne, Kip Moore, Eric Church, Tom Cochrane, Kira Isabella, Them Dang Rattlers, Leah Daniels, Drake White, The Washboard Union, Cold Creek County, The Road Hammers, Zac Brown Band and more on the billing. Special guests included Property Brothers’ Drew and Jonathan Scott, Master of Flip’s Kortney and Dave Wilson, Billy Bretherton of Billy Goes North,  Entertainment Tonight Canada’s Cheryl Hickey and CMT’s Paul McGuire who hosted the two day festival.

The festival grounds were set in the valley of Bingeman's - quite a breathtaking view from the top! Upon arriving we were a little concerned that we didn't have it in us to make it down and then back up the hill - but we did it!!
With the drama from Friday over* [see below for more information], Saturday went off without a hitch! We loved CMT Music Fest's laid back atmosphere - seriously, this festival is chill and intimate. There were plenty of bars and two stages set up, the Main Stage and the Maple Leaf Stage, and the crowds were pretty evenly dispersed between the two stages. CMT Music Fest had volleyball nets and cornhole games set up, which really added to the laid back atmosphere.

We LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the Market Lane set up. It was country, kitchsy and cute, with white twinkle lights set up in the trees along market lane, so simple but so effective in setting the mood, A+! Market Lane included some yummy food and pop up shops - lifestyle, clothing and jewelry - very gypsy!! Also included in Market Lane was CMT Music Fest's official merchandise booth.
The festival had a free photo booth complete with props and a professional photographer set up - what a cool FREE memento to take home! The photos were immediately sent via text to your cell phone. It's rare to find an activity so fun for FREE...did we mention that was free?? Thanks CMT Music Fest!!
Other activities included a W Network Bachelorette tent where free make-up touch ups were given to the ladies. Now this is an awesome idea! Spending all day at a music festival might be a lot of fun, but I speak from first hand experience when I say it seems the more fun you have, the more smudged your makeup and messy your hair gets. Touch ups are definitely appreciated! They also offered cold, fruit infused water......a very relaxing retreat!

Schick was on hand giving out freebies, HGTV and Food Network Canada were also on site with experiences and activities for the crowd.
Now...onto the music....Cold Creek County rocked it out. They definitely stole the show on Saturday.  #ShesGoneCountryAPPROVED. We can't wait to catch another one of their shows - seriously, you won't be disappointed! They did some original songs and some fun covers - the set was mixed with something for everyone!
Tom Cochrane opened for Zac Brown Band, and it was great to see some more homegrown talent on the main stage. It's been a while since we've heard from Tom Cochrane but he had everyone at Bingeman's jamming to Life is a Highway and some newer tunes!
Zac Brown Band closed out the festival on Saturday and they brought all their hits with them. Seriously. They have a lot of hits. They played a 25-song-set and had the crowd rocking out. Homegrown, Chicken Fried, Sweet Annie, Colder Weather, Toes, Beautiful Drug, Keep Me in Mind, Loving You Easy, As She's Walking Away - are just a few of the hits they played. They did a few awesome covers too!! Nathaniel Rateliff's SOB, The Who's Baba O'Riley, Don't Let Me Down - the Chainsmokers, Prince's Let's Go Crazy and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.
We'd be remiss if we didn't mention the events of the first day - it's unfortunate that with such a stellar lineup and great atmosphere, event planners just can't control mother nature. While the festival kicked off on Friday, July 8th, many festival goers didn't get a chance to catch any of the sets that night. Rain and lightening interfered to the point of the night being postponed and eventually canceled before Kip Moore and Eric Church ever got a chance to take the stage. While disappointing, this decision was not made lightly and was made with the safety of everyone involved in mind.
Organizers were quick to update social media pages and the website to let everyone know that refunds would be made for those that needed one, and all "Friday only" wristbands would be honored on Saturday.
