Brandy Clark To Release New Album "Big Day in a Small Town"

Four-time GRAMMY nominee and critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Brandy Clark is following up her 2013 smash debut album 12 Stories with the release of Big Day in a Small Town, to be released June 10 on Warner Bros. Records (available for pre-order beginning April 1). With “Girl Next Door" serving as the first single, Big Day in a Small Town is Clark's first major-label album. Big Day was produced by Jay Joyce.

When I made 12 Stories, I think my dreams were a lot more realistic, in that I didn't expect a lot to happen... then it did,” Clark says. “This time, my dreams are very much what they were when I was going to Vince Gill and Patty Loveless concerts and decided I was going to move to Nashville. Right now, my dreams are as big as when I was na├»ve enough to really dream them.”

Clark is currently featured in April/May "The Outlaws" issue of Garden & Gun with Matt Hendrickson raving, "Big Day in a Small Town has the same biting wit as her 2013 debut 12 Stories, but it's an even richer collection of songs, with a life-in-the-middle-of-nowhere thread running through the album."

Big Day in a Small Town tells the stories of the football star, the father, the homecoming queen, and the hairdresser because those are the stories and people that Clark grew up knowing. “All these songs, there's some little truth in them, somewhere, that resonates with me or that is about me,” she confesses.

12 Stories was featured on "Best of" lists from New York Magazine, NPR, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, The New York Post and The Boston Globe in 2013. That same year, The Los Angeles Times called it “the country debut of the year."

Kiefer Sutherland Debuts “Not Enough Whiskey” Music Video

Photo: Beth Elliott
Kiefer Sutherland opens his songwriting notebook and premieres the pedal-steeled, country/Americana-tinged “Not Enough Whiskey” video. “Not Enough Whiskey,” available April 1 on iTunes, is the debut track from Sutherland’s upcoming Down In A Hole album set for release this summer. Sutherland will also appear as a presenter during the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards™ Sunday, April 3 at 8/7c on CBS.

Sutherland, who co-wrote every track on the upcoming 11-track album Down In A Hole with producer Jude Cole, including “Not Enough Whiskey,” embarks on a nationwide 32-date tour April 14.

This record is the closest thing I’ve ever had to a journal or diary. All of these songs are pulled from my own personal experiences. There is something very satisfying about being able to look back on my own life, good times and bad, and express those sentiments in music. As much as I have enjoyed the writing and recording process, I am experiencing great joy now being able to play these songs to a live audience, which was something I hadn’t counted on,” Sutherland said of the 11-track album. A track listing and release date will be announced soon.

Sutherland, known for his starring role on the Fox series "24," also starred in movies like ‘Stand By Me’, ‘The Lost Boys’, ‘Young Guns’, Flatliners’, ‘A Few Good Men’, ‘A Time to Kill’, ‘Dark City’, ‘Melancholia’ and most recently, a western called ‘Forsaken’ and the upcoming ABC series “Designated Survivor.”

Randy Houser's “Song Number 7” Rocks Country Radio

Courtesy: Stoney Creek Records
Still fresh from landing his fourth No. 1 with “We Went” and releasing his new album, Fired Up, Randy Houser shows no signs of slowing down as his new single, “Song Number 7,” arrives at country radio earlier this week. The catchy earworm is the second most-added song at country radio with 60 first week reporters, marking Houser's highest first week add total to date. Fans and critics have also latched on to the new single, with the New York Times noting that “Song Number 7” is “likely to be one of the best country songs of this year” and Taste of Country calling it “the finest single representative of [Houser’s] Fired Up album. It’s a big country power ballad that leans progressive, but stops short of crossing a bridge that leaves traditional country behind. Above all else, ‘Song Number 7’ is a vocal showcase.”

Download “Song Number 7”  HERE and watch the lyric video below:

Written by Justin Wilson, Ben Hayslip and Chris Janson, “Song Number 7” is rooted in “a familiar country conceit: music about the power of music” (New York Times), which Houser has also nodded to in his own writing such as the deep cut “Power Of A Song” from his previous record, How Country Feels.

Houser is currently performing select headlining dates and will join Dierks Bentley for the 2016 Somewhere On A Beach Tour starting in May. Upcoming tour dates are as follows:
