Tebey's Third Studio Project "Old School" Brings New Hits!!

Homegrown favourite, Tebey released his third studio project this week titled "Old School" and it's poised to climb the charts quickly! Old School packs punches. There's something for everyone on this album. Old School shows off why Tebey has carved a name for himself as a songwriter in other genres. The songs are clever and quick. This is Tebey's third studio project and he's showing off the skills he's honed in the business.

The six song EP includes Wake Me Up (featuring Emerson Drive) one of Tebey's biggest radio hits to date, reaching #5 on the Canadian country charts and certified gold selling over 40,000 copies. Wake Me Up is a cover of EDM DJ Avicii's smash hit, and sure to be a crossover crowd-pleaser.

Tebey slows it down with the ballad Everybody Knows It But You, a sweet, southern self deprecating love song about stealing hearts, and cherry pie...and is likely to be one of his next chart toppers.

I was personally thrilled to see When The Buzz Wears Off on the album, as it's currently in heavy rotation on my iPod. One of my favourite songs this year for sure. Tebey sings about love and loss, in a song just about anyone out there can find relatable. It's a song that's been sung a million times before in country music: having a few drinks to numb the pain of losing someone....the difference with Tebey's take on the country classic? It's a good one and it's modern. "Thought the haze could erase all the hurt that remains but believe me, tryin' to forget that you love someone aint easy..." The lyrics are bold, clever and relatable, wrapped up in a catchy melody so you forget you're singing along to a sad song. Isn't that what music's all about?

Jealous of the Sun - another favourite of mine! This one's also been in heavy rotation on my iPod for the last few weeks. It's catchy country with some rock and pop influences. In Jealous of the Sun, Tebey shows off his #stage5clinger, obsessive side, while at the same time, being adorable and swoon-worthy.  "You're too beautiful for your own good, I can't help it I get a little selfish, even the stars in the sky are falling in love, girl you got me jealous of the sun." What girl doesn't want to hear that?? It's a tongue in cheek, sweet, sassy love song...and I love it!

The title track, Old School, is a hook-laden nostalgic celebration. It's a blast from the past, kickin' back in the pontiac type song and it's a fun summer anthem. It's unlike any other Tebey song to date - and you can almost hear how much fun Tebey's having reminiscing while he sings the track. The song doesn't take itself seriously, and shows off a goofier side of Tebey.

Tebey's current single off the EP, Lightweight, is quickly climbing the country charts and expected to be a summer 2016 hit.

Old School is currently out on iTunes - do yourself a favour and get it now!!

Tebey will be hitting the road for summer festival season. Performing on some of Canada’s biggest stages such as Cavendish Beach Music Festival, Boots & Hearts, and the Calgary Stampede, be sure to keep a close eye on Tebey’s website and social pages for more information on upcoming shows and a fall tour announcement.
