Chris Young suffered an injury to his hand last Thursday following a high energy concert with surprise guests the Doobie Brothers at his annual fan club party.
Chris attempted to make a late night dinner and somehow ended up cutting his left hand. The singer was rushed to a Nashville area hospital where he received treatment. The injury forced Chris to cancel a string of events during Nashville's CMA week/Fan Fest including his performance at LP Field scheduled for Saturday, June 7th. Fans were informed Saturday afternoon that Chris underwent two surgeries to repair tendons in his left hand. The singers mother, Becky Harris has kept fans up-to-date via Facebook, stating that Chris is recovering well and has passed the crucial 48-hour mark. He will remain in a soft cast for the next two weeks and then will have a hard cast for the next 4 weeks. Although Chris is healing well, it will unfortunately be a while until he can play guitar again.
Fans are hopeful that Chris will make his scheduled concerts this weekend, as of yet no further date have been cancelled. Chris seems to be in good spirits about his accident, sharing this photo on Monday night:
We wish Chris a very speedy recovery and will keep you all posted on his progress as we'll be seeing him next week!
