Country Music’s Stars Shine Bright at the 2014 Grammy Awards!

Fans saw country music well represented at the 2014 Grammy Awards with performances by Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban and Hunter Hayes. Miranda Lambert, showing off her newly slim figure, paired up with Green Day’s Billy Joe Armstrong to honor the Everly Brothers late Phil Everly singing “When Will I Be Loved”. Blake Shelton joined Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Merle Haggard to perform pieces of the Highwaymen’s “Okie from Muskogee” and “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys”.

The big winner of the night was newcomer Kacey Musgraves – winning Best Country Album for Same Trailer, Different Park and Best Country Song for Merry Go ‘Round. Darius Rucker was awarded Best Country Solo Performance for “Wagon Wheel” during a pre show ceremony with The Civil Wars winning for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

  1. When I’m looking for the latest country music, I always end up in one spot – 103.1 WIRK. I was even lucky enough to catch up with Keith Van Allen in the streets and got free ‘Rib Round Up’ tickets. Just one of the many events that keep me tuned into www.wirk.com
